In April, 1981, Ron Rosenbaum and Allan Tannenbaum covered the very first launch of a Space Shuttle from Cape Canaveral, Florida, for the SoHo Weekly News. Rosenbaum, now writing "The Edgy Enthusiast" for The New York Observer, had been against the space program...until he witnessed the awesome blast-off of Columbia and had a biblical conversion.
On February 1st, 2003, we lost the Columbia when it disintegrated upon re-entry into the Earth's atmosphere. We mourn the seven brave souls who perished with Columbia.
